W.H.A.L.E. Check Car Seat Safety

W.H.A.L.E. (We Have A Little Emergency) CHECK is part of our Traffic Safety Team’s Child Passenger Safety Seat awareness campaign. This is a special education and identification program for parents who have children in car seats.

Our W.H.A.L.E. CHECK program has a two sided combo handout that includes an informational label for parents to fill out and adhere to their child’s car seat. In many cases children are too young to identify themselves in the event of an automobile crash. This can help provide emergency and hospital care personnel with vital information about the child, including special medical conditions, parent or guardian names and contact info.

Attention Parents and Caregivers… New Child Restraint Law in Florida Began January 1, 2015

Recommendations are listed for the correct safety seat based on the child’s height and weight. Proper positioning of your car’s safety belt system is crucial in preventing or minimizing injury in case of a crash. All children under 13 should sit in the back seat.

Be a Hero… Safeguard Your Child with the Right Car Seat!

Even more importantly, our W.H.A.L.E. CHECK program is key to helping educate caregivers about the proper child safety seats. The flyer also has safety tips that can help prevent injuries in the event of a motor vehicle crash.
